Hey, Capitals fans! This just in from Boston: Brad Marchand doesnt like you.
And, for that matter, he doesnt like being called a diver.
Lets rewind the tape to Game 6 at the Verizon Center. Late in the second period, Jason Chimera clipped Marchand, who crumpled to the ice and remained there a few moments while Chimera turned and raced up the ice to score a game-tying goal.
The fans in Washington cheered even louder when shown a replay of Marchand falling to the ice, followed by a video clip of a diver plunging into a swimming pool.
For them to judge what knocks you down, they don't know your balance or whatnot on the play, Marchand told reporters in Boston Tuesday. They're sitting at home watching on TV. I don't really care what they say. They have no impact on my game, my life. They mean nothing."
