Alex Ovechkin scored one goal and Alex Semin added two assists to lead Russia to 5-2 win over Norway Thursday in the quarterfinal round of the World Hockey Championships in Stockholm.

Russia will face Finland Saturday for the right to play in the gold medal game against the winner of the other semifinal game between the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

The Czechs beat Nicklas Backstrom and Sweden 4-3 in another quarterfinal on Thursday. Backstrom recorded one assist in his two tournament games.

Ovechkin played on a line with Semin and Detroit Red Wings forward Pavel Datsyuk. Capitals prospect Evgeny Kuznetsov has collected two goals and four assists in eight games.

Following Saturdays semifinal round, the medal games will take place on Sunday.
