According to multiple reports, former Capital and current Carolina Hurricanes forward Alexander Semin has agreed to play for his hometown team of Sokol Krasnoyarsk, a Tier II feeder team for the Kontinental Hockey League.
According to Puck Daddys Dmitry Chesnokov @DChesnokov, Semin will earn the U.S. equivalent of 1,600 per month, the minimum salary in the VHL. Semin reportedly said he wanted to play for Sokol to give his grandmother a chance to see him play.
He is expected to make his debut on Friday and will wear is familiar No. 28.
