Former Caps Larry Murphy (1983-89), Dino Ciccarelli (1989-92) and Sergei Fedorov (2008-09) have all accepted invitations to represent the Red Wings alumni in one of the NHLs showcase events.

Murphy and Fedorov were teammates with the 1998 Red Wings team that beat the Capitals in the Stanley Cup Finals. Murphy also participated in the Capitals-Penguins alumni game at the 2011 Winter Classic, but the four-time Stanley Cup champion played for Pittsburgh.

Among the alumni who have confirmed their participation for the Maple Leafs are Wendel Clark, Vincent Damphousse, Tie Domi, Dave Ellett, Doug Gilmour, Curtis Joseph, Felix Potvin, Darryl Sittler, Mats Sundin, Darcy Tucker and Rick Vaive.

This years alumni game is scheduled for Dec. 31 at Detroits Comerica Park, one day before the current editions of the Wings and Leafs meet at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, MI.
