In anticipation of the Marine Corps Marathon on Sunday the 27th, General Electric is hosting the Marine Corps Marathon Health and Fitness Expo at the D.C. Armory from Thursday to Saturday before the big event. The expo will serve as a way for the public to join the 30,000 runners in experiencing what the third largest marathon in America is all about.
Runners from all 50 states and 48 different countries take part in the marathon, and all must attend the expo to officially check in and receive the participant bib. There will also be an exhibit where runners as well as the public can see and try different fitness products and food samples. The Marine Corps Marathon has also decided to forego cotton shirts, and give runners moisture transport fabric shirts.
Throughout the weekend, 38 "SuperSize" goodie bags will be given out at random. The official twitter (@Marine_Marathon) of the Marine Corps Marathon will periodically tweet out clues to how to get a bag. Prizes include Mini iPads, BlackBerry cell phones, event tickets from Comcast SportsNet, and more.
The hours of the expo are 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday, and 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday. The address of the Armory is 2001 E. Capitol Street SE Washington, D.C.
