The Monarchs are in the midst of one of the worst seasons in recent history, which included a midseason firing of coach Blaine Taylor, but the win over Virgina marks the season's highlight. Georgetown flustered the athletic Orange with a deliberate offense and stifling defense, while Porter proved to be the best player on the court. In the last Big East game for this rivalry to be played in the Carrier Dome before Syracuse leaves for the ACC, Georgetown showed it belongs in the conversation with the best teams of the country.Credit:
