Las Vegas, NV. - D.C. Mike 'The Hulk' Easton beat Ivan Menjivar by unanimous decision at UFC 148 giving the bantamweight his eighth consecutive victory and improving his record to 13-1. His UFC record is now 3-0 and a shot at a title fight is no longer out the question. As the former Ultimate Warrior Challenge bantamweight champion, the 28-year-old Easton was able to display his skills on a national stage during his first Pay-Per-View event. And not just any title fight, but Silva vs. Sonnen II."It feels good. I'm very happy for the win. Ivan is an incredible fighter. Usually when I throw my power it offsets everything and I think my strategy helped me come away with the win tonight."Although he's still a few fights away from getting a chance at Dominick Cruz's bantamweight belt, Easton has his eyes on the prize, "I want to fight for a belt. That is my goal. I want to keep getting better, keep getting better and keep getting better."The veteran Menjivar's record now stands at 24-9 (3-1 in UFC) with the loss. A defeat that has cost the 30 year old a chance at the bantamweight crown any time in the near further."I realizedI didn't put much pressure. The judges gave it to him because he looked more aggressive even though he didn't connect. I was too calm."
