The nation's No. 1 recruit according to Rivals.com, Woodbridge (Va.) defensive lineman Da'Shawn Hand, will announce his college decision Thursday at noon on NBCSN. Leading up to the decision, Comcast SportsNet will take a look at his recruitment, where he could end up, and how he would fit at each possible destination.
Michigan, Florida, Alabama
HOW HE FITS
Hand would be the cherry on top of a strong class that already includes the No. 2 overall player in the country and six four-star recruits. His presence would boost a defense that is middle-of-the-road when rushing the passer, ranking 53rd in the country in sacks per game and 59th overall in scoring defense.
Because of his quickness and ability to attack the ball off the line, he would be a valuable asset up front for Michigan.
Many national recruiting outlets see Michigan near the lead for Hand, in part because of Hand's desire to attend a school with strong academics along with football.
Jabrill Peppers, the No. 2 overall player in the 2014 class according to Rivals.com and also a Michigan commit, wrote in a blog earlier this month that he sees the Wolverines in a good position to land Hand. He wrote:
"His announcement date is Nov. 14 and it's getting closer and closer. I feel like we've got the upper hand because he visited us during the Notre Dame game and that was the perfect game for him to be at. The atmosphere was crazy and we got the win."
If you missed it, Michigan beat Notre Dame, 41-30, in front of a record crowd of 115,000+ people on Sept. 7.
