WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – After an outstanding performance in the season finale at Richmond, William and Mary junior wide receiver Tre McBride has been selected as the Colonial Athletic Association Special Teams Player of the Week.
McBride posted one of the most complete performances of his career versus the Spiders, as he totaled 282 all-purpose yards, which ranks as the 10th-best effort in school history.
In addition to recording a game-high nine receptions for 108 yards, the McDonough, Ga., native added 115 kickoff return yards and 59 punt return yards.
One of the league’s top players this season, McBride leads the CAA in kick return average (27.5) and ranks third in all-purpose yards per game (127.8). Additionally, he ranks fifth in receptions per game (5.25) and seventh in receiving yards per game (72.5).
McBride’s honor marks the second time this season that a Tribe player has garnered the conference’s special teams player of the week honor, as sophomore cornerback DeAndre Houston-Carson earned the distinction following W&M’s win against James Madison.
