Old Dominion University will be leaving the Colonial Athletic Conference to join Conference USA, according to a report in the Daily Press.
The school has called for a press conference Thursday afternoon to announce the decision.
With Virginia Commonwealth University leaving earlier this month to join the Atlantic 10, the Monarchs are the latest school to leave the CAA for greener pastures.
It seems that a major selling point for ODU was belonging to a conference that belonged to the Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (or FBS), something the CAA, a member of the Division I Football Championship Subdivision (formerly Division I-AA ) couldn't provide.
Old Dominion will begin playing in C-USA to start the 2012-14 season.
