UVa's Tony Bennett talks about keeping the Cavs humble

Virginia freshman guard Justin Anderson was named ACC Rookie of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.

The 6-foot-6 Anderson averaged 15.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals in wins over ACC foes Clemson and Maryland.

The former Montrose Christian product posted a career-high 17 points and matched his personal best with nine rebounds in Sunday's 80-69 win at Maryland, the program where Anderson originally committed. That effort came after he tallied 14 points, three steals, two assists and one blocked shot in Thursday’s 78-41 win over Clemson.

Anderson has scored in double figures in five of the last six games, averaging 11.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists in that stretch while shooting 51.0 percent from the floor and 88.9 percent from the free throw line.

Virginia hosts Virginia Tech on Tuesday, Feb. 12.
