B-Mitch and Doc debate if RG3 has enough help

Redskins Post Game Live

After losing two players for the remainder of the season earlier this week, it appears the Redskins are about to get good news regarding David Amerson.

The rookie cornerback, who has participated in the third most snaps among Redskins’ defensive backs, said he feels “fine” on Wednesday, three days after suffering the first concussion of his career in Dallas.

“I was just in shock,” Amerson said. “It was my first time ever having a concussion. So I was kind of woozy.  [But] it wasn’t bad. I slept okay and I wasn’t too sensitive to light or anything like that. Everything was good.”

Amerson absorbed a blindside, helmet-to-helmet hit from Cameron Lawrence on a kickoff return in the third quarter in Sunday night's 31-16 loss. After being helped to the sidelined, Amerson did not return to the game.

“It was schemed up play; the guy came from the other side of the field,” he said. “There was no way you could really see that coming unless you look back. It’s part of the game. You have to toughen up and move on.”

Asked about being part of a highlight reel hit on special teams, Amerson smiled and responded, “It’s not pleasant. But I’m good now.”

Amerson also said he expected to participate in practice on Wednesday.

“I took one test so far,” he said, adding that he’ll be retested on Thursday. “But like I said, I feel fine.”
