STREAKS, STATS AND NOTES - Cardinals play at Minnesota for third straight season, losing in overtime by three points in 2010 and then by 24 points in 2011, when Vikings RB Adrian Peterson had three touchdowns in first quarter and defense forced four turnovers. Teams playing for fifth straight season and sixth in seven years. Vikings have won eight of last 10 in series. ... Cardinals QB Kevin Kolb out six to eight weeks with shoulder and rib injuries; John Skelton will return to starting role he won at training camp before hurting ankle in opener. Skelton 8-4 in career as starter, but eight of his 10 passes were incomplete last week after he relieved Kolb. ... Cardinals have allowed 28 sacks and 44 quarterback hits, both by far the most in league. They're third in NFL with 19 sacks. LB O'Brien Schofield and LB Daryl Washington tied for team lead with four each. ... With Beanie Wells and Ryan Williams out, Cardinals on third starting RB with William Powell. He rushed for career-high 70 yards last week. ... Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald returns to hometown. He teamed with equipment maker Riddell this week to donate 1,000 new helmets to Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board football program that Fitzgerald started playing sport in two decades ago. ... Cardinals start rough four-game stretch with this game, then hosting San Francisco, playing at Green Bay and then at Atlanta after bye week. Vikings, 49ers, Packers and Falcons are combined 17-7. ... Vikings QB Christian Ponder, still second in league with 68.6 completion percentage, has thrown two interceptions in each of last two games. He also lost fumble last week at Washington that set up Redskins for touchdown on next play. ... WR Percy Harvin leads NFL with 49 receptions, most ever by Vikings player through first six games of a season. He's caught pass in every game of his career. Harvin also leads league in total yards, including rushing, receiving and returning, with 1,048. Packers WR Randall Cobb next with 930. ... Vikings rookie Blair Walsh, 16 for 17 on field goals, tied for league lead with 24 kickoff touchbacks. ... Vikings DE Jared Allen, who leads league with 109 sacks since he entered in 2004, has four-game sack streak. ... After missing four of first six games and being hampered by injury in another, WR Jerome Simpson on track to play this week after recovering from lower-leg problem.
