As the new vocal leader of the defense, Ryan Clark was asked how the team could improve it's tackling and if padded practices were the key to that. Well, he agreed, but also added that "these kids, and I can call them kids, are spoiled" when it came to practices and regaled tales of the good ol' days when practices were twice a day in pads, and they presumably walked uphill both ways.

Clark did note that as an executive member of the NFLPA board he recognizes that these practices without pads are designed to keep players healthy, and agreed that they are necessary, but more practices in pads could help improve tackling.
