Former Redskins cornerback Josh Wilson has signed with the Falcons, according to CSN Washington’s Chick Hernandez.
The seven-year veteran visited the Lions on Monday.
Wilson, a local product who starred at Maryland, spent the past three seasons playing for his hometown Redskins but he was not re-signed following an uneven 2013 campaign.
Wilson appeared to confirm the news on Twitter, writing: “God is good all the time …ATL.”
The 29-year-old started all 16 games last season, finishing with 68 tackles, seven defended passes, two sacks, two forced fumbles and an interception. According to ProFootballFocus.com, though, Wilson also missed more tackles (16) than all but three other cornerbacks.
Wilson’s contract with the Falcons is for one year, Hernandez reported.
