RICHMOND—Wide receiver Pierre Garçon missed Tuesday’s practice because of a nagging hamstring injury, while safety Ryan Clark sat out the second half of the three-hour joint session with the Patriots after aggravating a hamstring.

Garçon has been battling soreness for about a week and, as a result, has been in and out of practice.

“Just being precautious,” said Garçon, who watched from the sideline. “If it was a game today, I would have been able to play.”

Clark came out of practice about midway through the session after experiencing some discomfort. He also remained on the sideline.

“I just tweaked my hammy a little bit,” he said later. “Just trying to be smart about it, not tear it, not rip it, so I have an opportunity to play Thursday.”

Safety Phillip Thomas, meantime, took part in individual drills but did not participate in team drills. He’s been coping with a sore hamstring for about a week.
