RICHMOND—Jordan Reed did some light conditioning work in his return to the field Tuesday but the Redskins tight end did not participate in any drills.
Reed is expected to be a full participant when the team practices in Ashburn on Thursday, according to Coach Jay Gruden. The Redskins are off Wednesday as the training camp operation relocates up I-95.
“Jordan Reed is doing much better and we expect him to full go Thursday,” Gruden said.
Gruden said Reed’s ailment was a stomach virus or food poisoning.
“He was out there running around today,” Gruden added. “He looks better. Hopefully he’ll drink some Ensure or something like that. Get some protein back in his system. But he looks good. He’ll be fine.”
It’s unclear if Reed will be able to suit up for Monday night’s preseason game against the Browns. The second year player played 17 snaps in the victory over the Patriots Thursday but was absent from the team’s next practice Saturday morning.
