With the addition of Jason Hatcher and placing the franchise tag on Brian Orakpo, the Redskins made pressuring opposing quarterbacks their biggest priority in the offseason. More of a pass rush will be a big help for Washington's defense, but let's take a look at the opposite side of the ball.

In 28 NFL starts, Redskins franchise quarterback Robert Griffin III has been sacked 68 times, good for more than two sacks per game. At that rate, it's no surprise Griffin has not started a full NFL season, let alone suffered a career-threatening knee injury. Some of the numbers may be skewed due to Griffin's movement inside and outside of the pocket, but as RG3 becomes more of a pocket passer, protecting the third-year QB is paramount. Last season Griffin was taken down 38 times for sacks.

So, will the Redskins be able to better protect the QB? Looks like new coach Jay Gruden and general manager Bruce Allen have retooled the offensive line, with the addition of Shawn Lauvao from Cleveland, the departure of center Will Montgomery and bolstered line depth through the draft with Morgan Moses and Spencer Long.

Will it be enough? Can the Redskins keep RG3 from being sacked under 30 times? It hasn't happened yet in his NFL career. If Washington can get to less than 30 sacks for Griffin, what should the goal be? Peyton Manning was sacked just 18 times last season. Russell Wilson, another QB who uses his legs quite often, took 44 sacks last season.
