Redskins' General Manager Bruce Allen responded Friday to Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.), Majority Leader of the Senate, after Reid and 49 other Democratic senators issued a letter to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell calling for the league to pressure the Redskins to change their name.

Reid and his fellow senators letter said that Redskins name is a "racial slur" and that the NFL should no longer "ignore" or "perpetuate" the use of the name. The NFL responded in support of the Redskins, and now Allen, who identified himself as the President of the Washington Redskins (instead of his General Manager title), responds to what he calls, "set the record straight."
