RICHMOND—Offensive lineman Maurice Hurt passed his physical exam on Sunday and was taken off the active/non-football injury list. He was expected to rejoin the team for its afternoon walkthrough.
Hurt had not been allowed to participate in the first four practice sessions. The decision to withhold him from practice was made after the team’s conditioning test on Wednesday.
The fourth-year pro had been working off to the side with the team’s rehabbing the past three days.
Hurt, a seventh round draft pick in 2011, did not play last season after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his knee early in the offseason. The 26-year-old started eight games in 2011 and one in 2012.
Although Hurt can play both guard and tackle, he probably needs a strong camp in order to secure a spot on the 53-man roster.
