Veteran safety Tanard Jackson has been cut by the Redskins.
Jackson, who was suspended indefinitely in Aug. 2012 for a third violation of the NFL’s drug policy, had been conditionally reinstated by the league and, according to General Bruce Allen, was scheduled to take a physical at Redskins Park on Tuesday afternoon.
“Later today, he’ll be taking his physical exam,” Allen said earlier in the day during a pre-draft news conference in Ashburn. “And if he meets all of those conditions that the NFL has laid out for him, and after meeting with him, we might give him a chance, yes.”
Instead, the Redskins terminated his contract, according to the NFL's daily transactions report.
Jackson, 28, has not played in a game since the end of the 2011 season as a member of the Bucs.
