The Redskins made a couple of minor roster transactions late Monday, signing former Bills tight end Mike Caussin and waiving long snapper Kyle Nelson.

Caussin, a 27-year-old native of Springfield, Va., spent the past two seasons on injured reserve after suffering ACL and hip injuries. In the 2011, the 6-5, 252-pounder caught five passes for 41 yards for the Bills.

Caussin attended West Springfield High School and James Madison University. He’s the fifth tight end on Washington's roster, joining Jordan Reed, Logan Paulsen, Niles Paul and rookie Ted Bolser.

Nelson, meantime, appeared in 11 games last season for the Redskins while filling in for Nick Sundberg, who has returned from his knee injury and will be healthy as camp opens this week.
