According to a report from Dan Hellie of the NFL Network, Cleveland Browns rookie Johnny Manziel will make the first unofficial start of his NFL career in next week's preseason game against the Washington Redskins.
The Browns began their preseason schedule on Saturday night against Detroit, but Manziel did not start. Fellow quarterback Brian Hoyer was under center to begin the game.
Manziel comes to the Browns after being selected 22nd overall in this year's NFL Draft. The Heisman Trophy winner threw for 7,820 yards and 63 touchdowns in two seasons at Texas A&M.
