Friday night football is a time-honored tradition in Texas, so it was only a matter of time before RG3 brought a little bit of the Lone Star State to his new home. This past Friday, Griffin recreated that magic for 300 local kids at his "Friday Night Lights" football camp at Anacostia High.

Boys and girls donned "Go Catch Your Dream" shirts as they ran football drills, played games and met their heroes. At the end of the night, everyone went home with plenty of RG3- and Adidas-branded gear.

Joining Griffin were a host of athletes and celebrities including John Wall, Wale, MC Hammer, Bow Wow and Jeffrey Wright. Head Coach Jay Gruden and several Redskins teammates -- including DeSean Jackson and Trent Williams -- turned out for the fun, as well.

“I’m not from Washington, D.C., but Washington D.C. has accepted me as who I am, so that’s why I give back,” Griffin explained. "Without the community, you cannot do anything. Many communities have helped me to get to where I’m at, and I want to show them that you have to come out and show your face, be out there, interact with people, and try to give them a piece of you because they deserve it.”

Best of all, the whole event was documented on social media. Enjoy the photos below:
