Redskins owner Dan Snyder said he’s excited about the acquisition of DeSean Jackson and the impact the free agent wide receiver might make in 2014.
“We are very excited,” Snyder said in his first comments since the Redskins signed Jackson to a three-year contract on Wednesday. “He’ll look very nice in burgundy and gold.”
Snyder made the brief remarks in Southeast, Washington, where the Redskins, Clark Construction and KaBOOM! built a playground in the Cedar Heights neighborhood.
Tight end Niles Paul, former Redskins quarterback Mark Rypien as well as dozens of team employees, alumni and volunteers helped build the park.
“To come out and give this type of support and really get involved, we’re excited about it,” Snyder said of the project.
Asked how he thought the Redskins did in free agency, Snyder said: “Everything we do is just look forward every day. We’re looking forward to just getting better every day.”
