CSN Washington dot com. Our thanks very natural mark we know -- -- excited about the potential for the rotation but what about the starting line up it all starts at the top who is their leadoff hitter can Ian Desmond doing he had just a 298 on base percentage. In 2011. They need him to do it because they don't really have an an alternative at this point. You know the make up for the rest of the lineup they don't have guys who -- a leadoff hitter and even though Desmond doesn't himself. He's the best they've got he did well in that role late last season that point to that as a reason for optimism. If he can just get on base 32330. Clip doesn't have to be something that he's not but if you can just be a little more selective. Not strike out nearly as much it'll make a big difference if he gets on base to set up the rest of the guys in the line. They really like what Michael Morse did last year finally every day starting lineup proved to be a clean up guy he figures to bat fourth now. Again here in 2012. Had some impressive numbers as there MVP Lester can he keep those numbers up. I think he can I know a lot of people around baseball look at this and say we're this guy come from and must have been a fluke. Michael Morse was always a good -- he just needed the opportunity to play everyday which he finally got last season he hits the ball with a tremendous amount of velocity hits a lot of line drives. A big doubles -- home run hitter power to the opposite field. The nationals don't have a lot of questions about Michael -- that's why they gave the two year extension I think they're very comfortable with him being their cleanup hitter the next few years. At 31 home runs an impressive 303 average is now the big question mark as well in the outfield is Jayson Werth where does he plays it in center field a what do you expect from him in the second season. Well it's got to be better than last season -- -- -- much worse and it's got to be better because of the contract that he had if he gets off another bad start look out. I think ideally he starts the season in right field until -- Bryce Harper comes up when that happens you see Werth move over to center field. In the interim what they do well they got a bunch of guys who can play center fielder Rick Ankiel Mike Cameron Roger burned into. None of these guys -- every day a big league center fielders anymore that play good defense. And in the national's case that is one to kind of hold the fort until harper comes up they do feel like long term over the rest of the season worst is probably going to be in center field.
