CSN Washington dot com. Welcome the cats that GM chuck warming down today Mateo on. The cavs are making it really fun for their fans and Al -- a lot of fans are out having heart attacks every time they watch them but. I'll tell you guys I've seen teams get into the playoffs and worse shape than the caps meaning that the flyers two years ago. We're in very much the same situation and I talked to Chris Pronger with the -- were five games left in the season at fed to him what do you expect out of this team. And that I don't now I don't know from game to game if we're gonna show up what teams gonna show up. The caps are a little bit like that same talent level. The flyers that year get in in a shoot out and go all the way that the Stanley Cup finals is that even remotely possible with this team. I think absolutely it is because the capitals are battling with the same demons that the flyers had a year and it key injury to -- players. And at the same time we wouldn't know who Giroux is that the extent and if players were injured and we've seen guys throw off your feet you know because of the injury and Marcus Johansson and I'm happy for all of step up their game and and other players have had a feel for Mike Green in the back in to -- -- off probably would've been in the National Hockey League at the camp. All of a sudden you got everyone back and healthy competition team in the lineup so you can get in there and. Get everyone an appropriate place playing with confidence playing the desperation you can do anything. One thing we pretty much now is that the -- get in the probably faced the Rangers in the first round the Rangers are locked into that number one spot. Is that a good match -- deal if that happens. I really think to me the New Jersey Devils are the most dangerous team right now on the Eastern Conference and to New York Rangers are the fastest team in the world that he had wanted bass player Gabbert but the rest of them. Our players that are very position -- they play a big game and they do a lot of methodical things in the offensive zone I really think their team they can take advantage of by -- knowing that they're knocked. And it's beat their system they're gonna stay within it. So you just have to devise a plan to go around some of the things they -- on the defensive zone what they do in the offensive zone. In the defensive -- you've got to really be creative and hired by them but I really think this -- bats came back from being back Mike Green getting back involved in the offense. That can really change the way the Rangers were going to have to play it by the capital. You know another parallel to Philadelphia was that the flyers have hired Peter Laviolette during that season. They struggled under Laviolette for weeks just like this team did under down hunter. Do you see some parallels in the fact that. Once you get into the playoffs and you win one round which the flyers did against Jersey that here anything can happen that that that cohesiveness starts to come. With each win I really think that while there they bring teams together and if you can get in. You can take it deep breath and always goes back to zero for everybody now you're going in as an underdog. And if he can escape that first round all the sudden you believe that if he'd do everything that you're supposed to do. Within your team that you can't win and so you've just got to worry about doing your part nothing else matters Giroux -- your personal life -- decide at that point. All the water. Life goes by the wayside and you concentrate on hockey hockey and the -- and winning playoff game one by one. And trying to get to the property you have that every single player that has any amount of our. Place for the Stanley Cup and you want that's what you dream about on a daily basis and you've got to will yourself to get that thing and really a first round. Victory against a team you're not supposed to be will bring you closer together as a team Michael -- Eric has been in this situation this this time last year and it looks like he'll he'll get the ball the rest of the way. Are you confident that he has that it factor that in the playoffs a guy like him with that experience can take this team. Well without it especially the Rangers because -- team that he that he beat last turn five teams. It didn't happen when a lot of big things didn't let any bad goals than any -- -- and right now we. Back -- about -- with a win loss record but he knows he's got phonetic not looking over your shoulder right now. And they get acquire give it to him and his -- that did get a rise up and this guy hit at every level that he played in has been an incredible. Playoff performer lobster is the first time he lost around in the playoffs and you know I look at that as a team that was probably -- -- crisis and they didn't understand. And I don't play much from the wavered at all or the Tampa Bay series. CSN Washington dot com.
