CSN Washington dot com. Joining us to discuss what's next for the NHL as Joseph Hagerty of CSN New England hockey fans -- on Twitter is packed with pads. Joseph how close are we at this point to losing an entire season. Well it was certainly closer than we were a couple of days ago I I think we're still probably a week or two away at the very least from. The winter classic the all star game things like that being in play as far as cancellations go. And I think once you get to that point if they whack the winter classic such a big moneymaker at such. A milestone now marquee event for the NHL I think that's when you start. Not to seriously put those questions in play. But I think we're still along way from all that happening I think after this last round of a month's worth of games being cut you're gonna see the two sides get together. At some point the next couple weeks and try not to bring that middle ground back and see where they are I don't think it's gonna be a silent staring contest. -- for the next few weeks now and more cancellations so. I don't think we're that close yet but it's certainly feels a lot more real. Than it did last week and it's scary to fans I think and the people around the game. That are you saw what happened in 200405. And really aren't giving the league the benefit of the doubt now. And think as soon as things go bad that they could just cancel the entire season and it's natural to feel that way. Through all sports I always say owners are gonna win because the players and a finite amount of money the owners don't. But these players -- they're dug in how many guys realistically can either go overseas and play. Worst survive financially without a season because that's the rubber hits the road. Yeah I was are a 150 guys that are overseas I think there's a lot more than it could go. If things get worse than the next couple weeks might go if things continue to. Stay sort of status quo and flat line as they are right now I people is very valid the owners have a huge war chest there's a lot of determination. On their side to get exactly what they want to get the exact percentage hockey related revenue. Maybe to force the players and to taking a roll back are significant escrow if the big problem as I see it is when the players' wives start to say you're sitting on the couch right now no checks -- coming in what's a what's going on here and they don't care about principles they want the bills to get paid so as with anything in life and always comes down to the Boston house -- in the calls sometimes right right. Keep momma happy than everyone is happy all of -- some bleak news Joseph Hagerty CSN Newington thanks much for your time thanks much. CSN Washington dot com.
