Csnwashington.com. We're now joined by the legendary Coach Gary Williams as we continue to conversation. About the impact that the move from the ACC to the Big Ten it will have on Maryland are coached. I quite familiar with the Big Ten network yourself and with the Big Ten Conference. What would you say in your opinion the move for Maryland over to that conference was going to be the toughest program. Well. There's programs there they're consistently good in basketball. Ohio State. Michigan Michigan State Indiana you do you look at that those schools Wisconsin the last ten years that they've done a great job and so. The big thing about the Big Ten is their depth. The fact that they have that upper tier group but then there's no easy games in Illinois Purdue. Northwestern schools like that so. That's what makes it tough conference in basketball the fact that you don't have any nights off. You know we talk about them going in and actually playing these games -- they have played a camera and the -- don't along with many other so there used to. Very high pressure situations what is going to be the toughest venue for the to play and. I think you're stupid comes to mind right away and a lot of times is he older readers that are tough place to places are small like Cameron in the right on top of you. And when you go to assembly hall and Indiana. You you were walking into great basketball tradition -- when I was coach realized it was Bob Knight coach in there and then we had some great games there. But also another place on this who has made Michigan state of very tough place to play. And you don't you don't when their win very often. I the big thing that's gonna be adjusted here is going to be the recruiting there's going to be a big impact on that how difficult -- think it'll be for Mark Turgeon to be able to sell the Big Ten the local recruits. Four I I think. What Marshall was so is it just locally if you have a chance to play from our -- it doesn't matter who your playing your yourself playing for the university room I think that. That's mark's big pitched here he'll do a good job that he already has. And then it does open up different areas with the Raptors coming in at that probably opens up the New Jersey New York area a little bit. And then that the rest of the Big Ten you can go out there's Q -- player in basketball you if you can get three or four year you're really having a good class so. You don't have to be a constant factor in certain areas but he can just get that one player -- a while. Then you're gonna have good recruiting classes. You talk about opening up that could potentially also go to the midwest area and also turgeon has had some success in Kansas. Do you see them stretching into those areas. I think Bob marks who have from the Kansas area out there and I think he each country as high school contacts and things like that and still have a player local market and the fact that that player has a chance to play. Four Big Ten school will certainly give mark which is to get their player worry my none had that chance before I thank you very much good -- is truly appreciated.
