CSN Washington dot com. As we welcome you back Geico sports are essential Trevor managed country -- alongside where talk about the rookie quarterbacks playing this weekend. We know what Mike Shanahan thinks of RG three but Russell Wilson and Andrew Luck. Are lacking in the -- department either.
He's allowed us two to really do everything that we can think if we trust him and everything we're calling. It doesn't matter what play is what concept it is we just tended to be able to him if he gets off the practice field on the game plan on game day -- we trust that he can. Didn't do anything so that's a that's a wonderful feeling for coach that you trust your quarterback Clinton he's unflappable. I'm nothing bothers him obviously he's his own worst critic we've talked about that. But he's able to you know put everything behind him you know and come back.
Well gentlemen when you talk about all the rookies playing this weekend first of all it's very impressive that so many rookie quarterbacks have had such success this year. But in particular when you look at RG three Russell Wilson. They have their differences they're nuances but they're also very similar as well Trevor.
They really are -- part of that is the way they're able to mentally assimilate everything is going on. College quarterback is more of a physical position in the NFL it's what's more mental. And typically it takes rookie quarterback several years in order to finally figure out what the fences are trying to do to them. Had to be able to apply their own offense. -- what they see you cross the line of scrimmage. But what you -- with both of these quarterbacks is that mentally they're up for the game right now as a rookie. If you take a look for example Russell Wilson of Seattle look into his -- He looks like he's -- Other quarterbacks like Peyton Manning or Tom Brady you look at their eyes on game day and they are on fire there on fire but would -- just natural for him. Hope everything's. Down where everything. Affordable you be able to be so effective in getting the ball where it needs to go RG three has that same mental approach to the game. Where he doesn't respond -- you read as a react to what he sees he responds. To what he -- because what he sees comes to him more slowly than it does -- most rookie quarterback that's why I don't expect either one of these rookies to freak out at the speed.
Of a playoff game. Sounds like the -- he's using his poise and I think that's the biggest thing you look at even with Andrew Luck is the poison which they go about handling their business here is Angela keep talking about a guy. Who comes in is supposed to be the franchise quarterback the number one pick. Who went fourteen is the record to look at and now eleven and five. You're talking about all the responsibilities on his -- going to the line of scrimmage Macon took the office -- have to correct calls there's not a lot of veterans on that ball thrown. And they all have to look Andrew Luck and safe okay what is the best place to put us in. The -- is not managing the game and look at -- out there and winning ball games for this ball club you look at his interceptions eighteen that he had on here well. The last three games he had zero interceptions he gets -- he understands -- he understands how to help this offense go. And therefore when you're talking about Andrew Luck it's not about being a rookie. Technically is is a guy who really yeah he understands how to slow the game down as Travis says there's a lot of plays. With this this rookie trio. CSN Washington dot com.
