CSN Washington dot com. Well the capitals certainly got their best performance of the season tonight and it's funny because. Yesterday George McPhee said we need fewer penalties and better goaltending and that's exactly the story this game. And the reason they had better goaltending today with the defense all the fours we had better puck management tonight. And they allowed Braden hoping to see the pocket and not go backside all the time they were getting -- outnumber on the rush. They made sure the whole deal was able to cover one angle only worry about that shot at the global affair. Play a little bit cocky play a little bit -- yet. And make sure that glove was exactly were needed to be all game he didn't have to go side to side all night and you look at all the guys coming back for the support. Would definitely a team shut out. But he certainly did his part the first troopers stopping 41. But once again was always on the top of the crease only had to worry about that shot didn't have to worry more rebounds all night long and then. Just a little insults. To injury for the beautiful pass tough place to Troy Brown who converts on a beautiful shot and a player like that is exactly what he needed help build his confidence and without a doubt. You gotta go from here he starts next game needs to have another huge in that. That first save against Chris first big early in the first period that was the savior of the game really set a tone. Meanwhile the other night in Pittsburgh they give up three power play goals in the second -- alone they've given up more power play goals than any team in the league tonight they -- good. While the key for the penalty kill tonight was effective they didn't have to do a five or six times and Dick get fatigued they were able to go all there they were only short minutes twice tonight. But there was excellent positioning guys were getting caught out of position all all night long there were excellent support and because they weren't higher from having to be out there at all times. They were able to make better decisions they were a lot sharper and picking up plays like at full speed once again -- always have your best penalty killer. But did -- play after play where they're stealing pucks and making sure that they're picking lanes away John Carlson was very good the penalty kill the few that they had tonight. And then just plays like this anticipation. Matt Hendricks gets it play like that you throw it on the ice to kill another fifteen point second. Get a line change gets a fresh troops felt there and they did a very good job and because they were short handed all game long because they weren't awful penalties as well. -- bit this team was able to keep their confidence and pressed. Forward they've dominated Florida since last season they've outscored sixteen to. In four games now at Verizon Center they get a rematch on Tuesday in Florida -- make a run -- to go back to you.
