CSN Washington dot com. They welcome the beltway baseball here on CSN Washington dot com chase Hughes and mark Zuckerman is back from nationals camp and Vieira Florida. Mark since you were down there we've been able to see a few games on TV listen on the radio basically just looking at -- scores. From what you've seen them there who's looking good -- really standing out. Well -- mentioned a couple guys. And that's probably not surprising given there track records. Hype that surrounds them. But Bryce Harper looked fantastic fun so far he's balked up -- 230. Just looks like -- man walking around the clubhouse and just looked like he belongs more now not they didn't look like people hung in the past but he really stands out physical. Presence and what does -- feel you know so many of these guys bettors and expert training and say okay we take things slow and just trying to build myself up. That your case -- this swung like that again just like stand there watch balls while harper is not that he gets out there and he is. 100% all the time just like he has in the race he's for -- stretch for an extra days we had seen it already in spring training doing that and it's at and what -- hit it into the hole. You might be concerned about some guys doing that not this guy's twenty years old he's in great physical shape. He looked primed for huge season the other guy would be in next year's first round draft pick Anthony ran down. Who barely played at all last year after broken ankle I think it's a total of 43 games -- action. But he's finally healthy. He's in good spirits he. Despite his young age and lack of experience. He's a really advanced hitter you can see that already. Attacking pitches. Haven't -- planes very smooth swing he's shown power. And a person in the field goal in the third base I didn't know he has good arm. As he does now long term -- -- we're gonna wind up this don't question and you know he's not making -- -- -- me that there right now but. For a guy who we have got to see a lot of on the field so far. It's really impressive and you can tell that he probably not that far off. Now Rendell is a guy who need to -- throw in there with a few other players on the team -- Morse homered as he -- they -- on the nationals. Would probably be competing for perhaps a starting position on another team maybe even RD given that job it's kind of impressive we're talking the other day about. The organizational depth they've got a hole like basically second team behind almost every single position. They do it's almost they've set themselves very well and you hate to say but if they were to have some injuries and they're well equipped to handle we saw last year. Both Moore and -- -- had to step in a lot and play when Michael Moore was outlines -- was out. And they did a great job and you catcher. They've got the depth now with so you can almost. More complaint first baseman played outfield number -- infield spots. You know and don't I guess it's not gonna make the roster opening day but. I think what they've seen of him if he were stay healthy that if one -- the other big guys went down and they needed infielder. I think it would consider absolutely. Full penalty has depth that the one area that they're concerned about it's been all along. He is starting rotation and -- one other five guys goes down what they do well to sign Chris Young. To minor league deal he's -- once so far. In Miami game. He's healthy and that's the most important thing that the question of young is going to be number one is healthy. And number two isn't willing to go to triple he has an out clause in his contract that he can become a free agent doesn't make the roster. He's not gonna make the roster unless somebody gets hurt. So is he willing to go there if he is and spent some times -- -- so they're gonna need him at some point. You know that there are gonna make it through the season with five stars and that to me really address is probably good solid track record to call on him. Something happen. Now looking at this team's depth we know what they're ceilings this team has a chance to win a World Series someone called on the favorite. And I've I've cut from the -- offices in almost makes you wonder what it is really their basement because they. They have I mean obviously things can go wrong -- they have depth at every position I think the one thing that. Perhaps prevents them from really losing losing everything they got going for him is Davey Johnson. Because as soon as they start losing he's around the locker room he's making jokes and then there before he's seen everything. Yeah he's actually going into his thirtieth Major League season as either -- player manager. Experience he has champions. And not just experienced -- winning experience for a I don't know the exact numbers but he's only had handfuls losing seasons in his time as a manager and I certainly don't think anybody expects that to happen this year. You're right it Davey Johnson number one in the last year remember there was a little stretched. July August I wanna see when they went through a five game losing streak maybe right you got to six and I don't think you know with this panic time. And -- -- throughout and he actually gathered the guy's up for meetings and we all thought it was a big deal Holland told them was. You know you're losing everyone's gonna expect me to meet with you -- will tell them I met with you but I really -- -- -- -- -- you guys are going to be fun. And that that's the influence that he -- so number one that number to -- again last year I think it's a big reason. Why they didn't go three long losing streak is because of the pitching. You have a good quality starter going out there every single day it's tough to go through long losing streak and I think that is the number one reason along with any way this team should not. Go in the tank. CSN Washington dot com.
