COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Hector Jimenez scored in the 90th minute to lift the short-handed Columbus Crew into a 1-1 tie with D.C. United on Saturday night.
Trying to build off an encouraging 2-2 draw with Chicago, D.C. United responded with two goals again and this time snared all three points in a 2-0 win over the New England Revolution.
At times last year, the phrase "own goal" was a four-letter word around RFK Stadium. On Saturday night, an own goal was the difference, but for once it favored D.C.
After the 2013 season, many expected United to be much improved to begin 2014. Unfortunately, with so many new faces on the roster, United won't be afforded much time to gel.
