SEATTLE (AP) -- Tyrone Mears scored in the 88th minute for his first MLS goal, leading the Seattle Sounders to a 1-0 victory over the short-handed D.C. United on Friday night.
Over the years there have been advances in air travel, but Seattle has not moved closer to the east coast.
It is one point in the standings for DC United that must feel like three points.
Past the halfway point of the MLS season, DC United remains securely at the top of the Eastern Conference table.
