We now know why Roger Mason was not on the Wizards active roster Friday night against Milwaukee.

For most of the night against Milwaukee, the Wizards clearly looked like they had stopped playing for head coach Flip Saunders.
Roger Mason was ruled ineligible on Friday because Flip Saunders didn't recognize he wasn't listed on the active roster.
Shortened by a lockout or not, an NBA season is still a long journey. Two games in to its journey, the Wizards appear to be stuck in a cul-de-sac.
It's not the ideal way for the Wizards to start their new season. All of the off-season concerns heading into the year are still right there, glaring us in the face.
