MONTREAL (AP) -- The Washington Capitals bounced right back from being shut out and blanked the struggling Montreal Canadiens.
Capitals coach Dale Hunter continues to experiment with his forward lines as his team prepares for Sundays 5 p.m. puck drop against the Carolina Hurricanes at the Verizon Center.
The pleasant memories generated by a four-game Caps win streak were dashed by this visit to California. The Capitals lost momentum in San Jose Saturday and did not regain it in Los Angeles.
Mike Knuble wanted Dale Hunter to know that although he may be halfway to his 40th birthday it doesnt mean hes ready to put a rocking chair in front of his locker stall.
The good news for Capitals fans is that Nicklas Backstrom worked out on his own Wednesday at Kettler Capitals Iceplex.
