It’s D.C. against New York. That says it all.  It is cliché, but records have not mattered in this series dating back to the start of Major League Soccer in 1996.


HARRISON, N.J. (AP) -- Lloyd Sam and Tim Cahill scored to lead the New York Red Bulls in a 2-1 victory over the last-place D.C. United on Saturday night.


Following last Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Toronto FC, DC United head coach Ben Olsen’s press conference was late getting started. There was business to finish with a discussion in the locker room.


What’s next? That has to be the question D.C.
