CESAR ALDAMA JOINS COMCASTSPORTSNET AS SENIOR DIRECTOR OF NEWSBethesda, Md. (Oct. 24,2011) Comcast SportsNetMid-Atlantic has announced thatveteran television news executive Cesar Aldama has joined the network as seniordirector of news. Aldama assumes this position immediately and reports toSenior Vice President and General Manager Rebecca Schulte.Inthis position, Aldama leads the networks extensive television news department,overseeing all areas of its operation, including content development, editorialdirection and strategic planning. His responsibilities include the managementand development of the departments on-air talent and staff and the productionof the networks marquee news, entertainment and original programming, includingSportsNet Central, Washington PostLive and Redskins Postgame Live.Cesaris an experienced and innovative media executive with the ability to successfullylead and develop our comprehensive regional sports news operation, saidSchulte. He will be a valuable addition to an already talented news departmentand a great complement to our management team as we continue our rapid growthas a network.Aldamahas more than 25 years of television news experience, including more than 15years in leadership positions with major-market media organizations. He mostrecently served as the news director for MiamisCBS station, WFOR-TV, and its sister MyTV station, WBFS-TV, where he led anoperation that covered regional, national and international stories and events.Prior to that, he spent seven years as the assistant news director for the CBSstation in Philadelphia,KYW-TV. Aldamaalso served with WFOR-TV as a managing editor for three years, a position healso held with WBAL-TV, BaltimoresNBC affiliate, for one year. His first management position was with WKMG-TV,the CBS affiliate in Orlando,where he was the assignment manager for three years. He began his career intelevision news with WSVN-TV in Miami,where he served in a variety of positions over 10 years, including assignmenteditor, photojournalist and editor.
