Sean Taylor's father and former Redskins legends reflect on Homecoming

Sunday marked an explosive match-up between two of the hottest young quarterbacks in the league, Robert Griffin III and Cam Newton, but a certain nostalgia hung in the air as it was also Homecoming at FedEx Field.

The Redskins honored some former players before the game in an alumni ceremony. Late safety Sean Taylor's family was present on his behalf as he was honored as one of the '80 Greatest Redskins' this year, providing a special moment for fans in attendance.

"It is so exciting, just a pleasure and a humbling experience to be here," said Sean's father, Pedro Taylor. "To enjoy the festivities of Redskins' nation, the fans, and the 80 greatest players to see them up close in person…it's just so exciting."

A career cut tragically too short, Pedro Taylor spoke of his son's legacy with the Redskins organization.

"Well, I hope he represented the organization with respect, appreciation and he played hard…that's all you can do is give your best. I think he did that."

As an explosive new chapter opens for for Washington, it's hard for Pedro not to imagine Sean and RG3 playing together for the Burgundy and Gold.

"Oh…it would have been beautiful. I think it would have been a 1-2 punch along with the other players. You need fifty three, you need a team. It's always gotta be about one and that's the team itself, but [Sean] playing with him [Griffin] would have brought everything together. It would have been very exciting, you know," Pedro laughed, "just to watch some people getting hit, some people catching the ball and having a fun…touchdown!"
