Wizards win their first game in 2014

The recently traded and then released Andrew Bynum is now a free agent, and despite his damaged reputation and injury history, he's garnering quite a bit of interest. A new report from ESPN has as many as eight teams checking in on the big man, including likely playoff teams the Miami Heat and the L.A. Clippers.

Bynum, still only 26, appeared in 24 games this season with the Cleveland Cavalier before being traded to the Bulls. Chicago promptly cut him and kept the draft picks they received in exchange for small forward Luol Deng.

There are enough teams interested in Bynum, ESPN's Chris Broussard says, that the ball is very much in his court. Bynum is now weighing several factors including playing time, whether the team is a contender or not, and how much money is on the table.

Bynum managed 20 minutes per game and averaged 8.4 points and 5.3 rebounds for the Cavs. He's also 7-feet and 285 pounds with a decent skillset around the basket. Those qualities, it seems, could keep Bynum in the league longer than many may expect.
