What is the Wizards biggest issue heading into training camp?
Here's what happening around the Southeast Division...
Charlotte - Considering their rebounding issues last season, no wonder the Bobcats' major moves this offseason involved adding bigs via free agency (Al Jefferson) and the draft (Cody Zeller). With a balanced roster, they are looking for better results. Balancing out a 28-120 over the past two seasons, maybe not that good. (Charlotte Observer)
Orlando - The Magic are not sure if Glen Davis (left foot surgery) returns in time for the start of training camp. Expect a serious battle for minutes and roles whenever Big Baby hits the hardwood now that his absence opened the door for Tobias Harris and Andrew Nicholson. Veteran Jason Maxiell also joined the roster this summer for depth purposes. (Orlando Sentinel)
Atlanta - The same SI.com writer that graded the Wizards offseason to date as a B-minus handed the Hawks a B-plus. Even though the Hawks seemingly took a step back in terms of next season (lose Josh Smith), they receive credit for new coach Mike Budenholzer and financial flexibility in the years ahead. Atlanta and Washington will battle for second place behind Miami and more importantly, for one of the likely three available playoff berths in the East.
Miami - Because coverage of the Heat often has more of a Entertainment Tonight kind of feel - and really, what else is there to say about the on-court product - here's a post about LeBron James receiving a police escort to a Justin Timberlake/Jay-Z concert. (ProBasketballTalk)
