In less than two months, the Wizards will have an idea what they missed out on, if anything, when Nerlens Noel plays at Orlando Pro Summer League. It'll be his first action in about 15 months.

Noel, who dropped from a potential No. 1 overall pick in last year's draft because of a torn knee ligament after his only season at Kentucky in which the 6-10 center averaged 10.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 4.4 blocks, didn't play for the Philadelphia 76ers in 2013-14.

He was drafted sixth instead, three spots after the Wizards chose forward Otto Porter.

Noel only made visits to three teams last summer, and the Wizards were among them. They initially didn't talk to him at the Chicago pre-draft camp because the Wizards were picking eighth but then moved up in the lottery.

Aside from having an issue with his knee, Noel raised eyebrows at the combine because he weighed just 206 pounds. If he plays well, and given Porter's slow start to his career, the storyline will be how the Wizards missed out in the draft again.

They'll be looking for size in this year's draft but only have a second-round pick, 46th overall.
