Expected to hold a final pre-draft workout session on Tuesday, the Wizards will in fact double the amount of sessions and players as they continue preparations for the June 26 draft. Having traded away its first round pick last year in a deal for Marcin Gortat, Washington only owns a second round selection, 46th overall.
Some highlights of the dozen players expected in Chinatown Tuesday morning.
* George Washington stalwarts Isaiah Armwood and Maurice Creek will be part of the second session. The shot blocking Armwood and the perimeter shooting Creek led the Colonials to the NCAA Tournament last season.
* Ohio State small forward LaQuinton Ross will apparently make his second stop in Washington. Draft Express ranks Ross as the 50th overall prospect in the 2014 draft.
* Jahii Carson (Arizona State) is a lightning quick albeit underszied point guard and a potential option if the Wizards covet a long-term backup plan behind John Wall.
* I previously discussed Dwight Powell (Stanford) in the context of the Wizards seeking big man depth.
