United trades White for Jeff Parke

D.C. United traded defender Ethan White and the top allocation ranking to the Philadelphia Union for defender Jeff Parke and the sixth allocation ranking.

31-year-old veteran Parke started 31 games for the Union last season and has 234 starts in his career.

“In Jeff, we have acquired a starting veteran centerback who instantly upgrades our back line,” D.C. United General Manager Dave Kasper said in a statement released by D.C. United.

 Maryland native Ethan White excelled in United’s U-18 program and played two years for University of Maryland where he earned All-ACC Freshman Team honors. He started 21 league games with United last season.
