After a long summer, it's almost time for football.

Virginia Tech players reported to camp Sunday and will take the field for their first practice on Monday.

Defense is always a major part of Beamer Ball. You can bet Bud Foster is ready for camp. The always fiery defensive coordinator tweeted out a picture of the famous Lunch Pail given each week to the team’s defensive MVP.

The departure of Logan Thomas leaves a major hole on the offense that the Hokies will look to fill at camp. The quarterback competition will be one of the major storylines heading into the season.

For one quarterback candidate, Texas Tech transfer Michael Brewer, Sunday was more than just the start of another camp; it was a new beginning.

For the players, the start of camp is the start of a grueling four weeks of practice. For the fans, it signals the countdown for the season.

Get ready Hokie fans, the season is almost here.
