The Redskins are going to have another hole in their secondary. Brandon Meriweather is going to be a free agent.
A report in the Washington Post clarified some confusion about Meriweather’s contract. According to the report, the deal will void five days after the Super Bowl, making him an unrestricted free agent when the league year starts on March 11.
It was thought that a reworking of the deal last year that was done to help get the Redskins under the salary cap had extended it through the 2014 season. However, that is not the case.
