The Redskins are going to lose their collars.
Thanks to some intrepid reporting by Sons of Washington we have found out that the Redskins are going to remove the burgundy “collar” from their white jerseys. We like to get double confirmation on important stories such as this so we didn’t run with it until a source confirmed to the DC Sports Bog that the trim is going away.
The rugby collar was added when Nike took over as the NFL’s official uniform supplier before last season. Many NFL teams had the trim on their white jerseys and SOW tells us that the Redskins aren’t going to be the only team to get rid of it.
SOW Photoshopped the collar out of a picture of RG3 and posted it on its site. The collars never really bothered us all that much but the clean look without it is somewhat more appealing.
What do you think? Are you glad the collar is gone? Mad? Don't care? Let us know in the comments.
