Rich Tandler breaks down the new Redskins coaching staff

With Sean McVay taking over as offensive coordinator in Washington, the Redskins are in need of a new tight ends coach.

One candidate is Cowboys assistant Wes Phillips, who, according to an ESPN report out of Dallas, is interviewing for the position.

Phillips—the son of longtime NFL coach Wade Phillips—has been with the Cowboys since 2007 and has assisted in a variety of roles, including tight ends last season. Wes Phillips has also been an assistant for the offensive line, wide receivers and special teams during his tenure in Dallas.

In 2013, the Cowboys’ tight ends were led by Jason Witten, who hauled in 73 passes for 851 yards and eight touchdowns.
