George Washington will host DePaul on Dec. 11 at the Smith Center, the school announced on Friday.
The matchup with the Big East program is the latest home-and-home series against a power conference foe for the Colonials. GW previously announced series against Virginia (ACC) and Penn State (Big Ten) with both 2014 matchups taking place on the road.
The Colonials will blow into Chicago for a return game with DePaul during the 2015-16 season.
It's actually possible the Colonials and Blue Demons could meet twice this season. Both schools are part of the eight-team field in the 2014 Diamond Head Classic in Honolulu, Hawaii from Dec. 22-25. According to GW's announcement, "The two teams will now also square off at the Smith Center in an unbracketed game of the event."
"As our 2014-15 schedule continues to take shape, it's clear that the next two seasons are going to be very exciting and also very challenging," said Head Coach Mike Lonergan. "Home-and-home series against teams from the ACC, Big Ten and Big East combined with the new 18-game Atlantic 10 schedule will give our fans plenty of great games to enjoy and again prepare our team for the postseason."
The Blue Demons are coming off yet another trying season, finishing last in the Big East and 12-21 overall. Guard Billy Garrett is the reigning Big East Rookie of the Year.
GW and DePaul have met four times, most recently at the 1998 BB&T Classic, won by the Blue Demons.
GW's trip to Chicago in 2015-16 will provide Lonergan with a recruiting opportunity and mark the programs first game in the Windy City in more than 45 years.
