Call it the flip heard round the world. Or at least the flip heard round the the Internet. It's unclear what Johnny Manziel's intent was, but it looked like frustration got the better of the young QB. Cameras caught Manziel making a gesture that certainly looked like a middle finger raised straight up aimed at the Redskins bench late in the third quarter of a sloppy preseason game.
While the finger was the lowlight of Johnny Football's night, there wasn't much to call a highlight. He finished the night 7 of 16 for 65 yards and a late touchdown, but never showed his signature playmaking ability.
He often had to drop his arm angle to a weird sidearm delivery to avoid pass rushers. While his feet bailed him out of a few sacks, the throws did not land on the mark. Manziel did lead a touchdown drive, however, it came against the Redskins second and third string defenders.
Cleveland starter Brian Hoyer did not look much better. He completed two of his six passes for 16 yards.
Either quarterback had a chance to take the Browns starting job, but neither showed much of anything. Well, Johnny Football did show a now very famous finger.
